A typical condiment in Argentine cuisine – “cocina criolla”
–, chili pepper powder may have a finer or coarser ground. It
is the perfect equivalent to Italian “pepperoncino” or
Spanish “guindilla”. “Cayenne” pepper (very
hot), also called “red peppercorn”, is a variety of chili
peppers. It is not related to peppercorns, though.
To be used in turn-overs, “locro”*, stews, rice, “humita”*
, spaghetti, pizza, sauces, game animals, pork, lamb, cow, fish and
shellfish, chicken, chimichurri (barbecue seasoning), vegetable-and-egg-stuffed
meat roll. (*corn-based meals)
Health benefits: Carminative stimulant, digestive,
blood circulation booster, aphrodisiac. It prevents fat rancidity.
